Marlboro, MA – The Northeast Selects combined 04/05 team played in the Boston Challenge Cup over the weekend going 3-0 in the preliminaries beating the Syracuse Blazers, Mississippi Stars and N E Freezers. The Northeast Selects allowed only 1 goal against in the preliminaries earning the team the 1 seed and a trip to the 4 team gold round playoffs.

The Northeast Selects were able to pull out a win in the semi finals in a very competitive game to setup a finals match-up against the Boston Selects (’04 Flames Elite team).

Both teams fought hard and moved the puck well skating to a 1-1 tie after 2 periods of play. However the Boston Selects led by Joe Connor, scored 2 goals midway through the 3rd and went on to defeat the Northeast Selects.

The boys had a lot of fun on and off the ice playing with players from 8 different winter teams and making new friends along the way all while playing some competitive hockey.
