Marlboro, MA – The Northeast Selects combined 04/05 team played its inaugural tournament over the weekend going 2-1 in the preliminaries and earning a 3 seed in the 9 team field which was good enough for a trip to the 4 team gold round playoffs.

In the semi-final game, the Northeast Selects fought back from a 2 goal deficit to beat the 2nd seeded Tropics by a score of 4-3 to advance to the championship game. Despite a solid effort, the team lost a nail biter in the championship game to the undefeated CT Blues.

The tournament proved to be a great tournament. Besides the first game which the Northeast Selects won 7-2, every other game the team played was a 1 goal game providing for some competitive hockey and a good challenge for the boys.
